The research proposes a decision-making framework for the selection of software development model using one of the widely accepted multicriteria decision-making tools, i.e., TOPSIS. It prioritizes the defined options after evaluating them against confliction and multiple attributes. It accomplishes the experts’ job by validating their opinions. The statistical and quantitative analysis is the main feature of TOPSIS. The paper tries to reduce the effort of decision-makers and project team by outlining the significance of TOPSIS model. But the study conducted so far cites several causes such as unarticulated project goals, mishandling of requirements, poor estimation of resources, sloppy software development life-cycle model.
